The Icom 4100 is a fantastic radio with a great user interface that anyone can pick up and run with. 50 watts on 2 Meters & 70 CM. D-Star capable. Has had the MARS/CAP modification so it will transmit on GMRS bands also!

The Renogy Wanderer 10amp Solar Charger is the perfect match for keeping the internal Vatrer 7ah battery topped off and in peak performance condition. It has all the right circuitry to charge today’s lithium batteries, and do it well! It also gives you valuable information about your battery voltage, solar panels, charging rate, and accessory power loads.

The 40 Watt foldable solar panel is a great panel for this kit. It is light weight, has a 24% conversion efficiency, folds to just 14" x 10" x 2", and include a zipper pocket to keep you cables organized.

The Buck/ Boost DC to DC converter makes this go box unstoppable! You can plug it into any DC power source between 5 and 30 volts DC. It will happily buck or boost the voltage automatically to charge the internal battery. Yup you read that right! Dead car battery with under 10 volts? Suck every ounce of energy out of it! 20v Dewalt batteries? Hook them up too! This also makes plugging the Hammo Can directly into your car's 12v power point outlets possible. The converter limits the current to a healthy 5 amps. Plenty of juice to charge the battery, run the radio, and any accessories, but well within the current rating for any car's wiring.

The AC powered LIFEPO4 battery charger is lightweight, compact, and will charge your Hammo Can at 4amps. It is a 4 stage smart charger that will prolong the life of your Vatrer battery that is already rated for 5,000 charge cycles! WOW!

The 40 watt solar panels can be unfolded, stood up with the built in stands, and plugged into the Hammo Can in under 1 minute. They will provide about 2-3 amps of charge current in direct sunlight. More than enough to keep the Hammo Can topped off even while operating.

With so many different ways to power the Hammo Can, we have used color coded Anderson Power Pole connectors to make it intuitive to use. Green power poles are for the DC-DC converter, blue is for solar, and red is for any 12v power out & the AC wall charger in. All of the connectors are color coded to match!

The included magnetic mount antenna can be attached to almost any metal structure you can find. Your car, your carport, you BBQ grill, your XYLs tin baking sheet... It is very robust and the magnet is strong! It should be noted that proper SWR is best achieved while mounted on a car... but it does work MANY other places!

NOTE: While it may be tempting to magnetize the antenna to the Hammo Can, I would advise to not too. Too much RF in the Hammo Can caused by the nearby antenna may confuse the battery management system and disconnect the battery to protect it. So, while you won't hurt it, I can say I told ya so. If you decide to prove me wrong, a quick flip of the battery disconnect switch will restore everything to normal.
